Although Hydrographics is our specialty... Custom Paint will always remain a core part of our business.  After all, our hydrographics process depends on our custom painting skills.  Our Custom Painted helmets include the following steps to ensure a beautiful, yet durable finish on & off the field.   We completely sand down the helmet to the original substrate.  We then fill in all dents & scratches with Bondo before ultimately sanding smooth before cleaning.  After sanding,  we then use 91% alcohol to remove any final dust & debris from our sanding process.  We then coat the helmet with 2 coats of primer before wetsanding for a custom color basecoat that we spray with Iwata HVLP Spray Guns.  We then color sand the custom base color with a fine grit to ensure a showroom smooth finish before applying 1-2 additional coats of basecoat color.  The helmet is now ready for our extremely durable CLEARSHELL technology consisting of a 3 part mixture that will protect the helmet not only from hits, but also from the sun's powerful UV Rays that have been known to kill the color in ordinary paint jobs.   Take a look below at a custom painted helmet from start to finish.
